Here is a portion of a picture of Sarah Laudenslager. She was my grandmother's great-grandmother. She was a daughter of John Jacob Laudenslager and Julia Ann Hoffman Laudenslager, born on Jan 26, 1849 in Lykens Valley, Pennsylvannia. She married Jacob Kratzer in 1869 and died in Gratz, Pennsylvannia in 1938.
Here is an old Laudenslager family portrait done in the 1870s. Seated is the center is John Laudenslager. His daughter, Mary Laudenslager James is on the right in the back row. John Laudenslager's wife, Julia Ann Hoffman is seated next to him. In the back row are his three daughters. Directly behind John is Sarah Laudenslager. Standing on the left is Emma Laudenslager Daniels. Seated next to John Laudenslager is his son, Charles Laudenslager.
Here is a poor copy of a really old Laudenslager family photo. All the children are shown. Standing in the back row are John, Charles, Henrietta, and Henry. In the front row are Lizzie, Charles H., Sarah, and Edward. Sula is standing and the baby is Clara.
Here are four successive generations. Sarah Laudenslager is the oldest. In this picture she is second from the left. Her daughter, Ida Kratzer Schwalm is left of her, followed on the right by Sarah's granddaughter, Gertrude Schwalm Garver, and finally by Sarah's great-granddaughter, Jane Garver Sterrett.
Here is Sarah with her daughter and great-granddaughter. Jane Carolyn Garver is the young girl in the center. Sarah's daughter, Ida Kratzer Schwalm is on the left, and Sarah Laudenslager Kratzer is on the right.
Here are 5 successive generations. Sarah Laudenslager Kratzer is the oldest one, with the baby in her lap. Her daughter, Ida Kratzer Schwalm is left of her. Ida's son, Clarence Schwalm is behind Ida. Clarence's son, Charles D. Schwalm is to the right of Charles. The baby is Charles D. Schwalm Junior, Sarah Laudenslager Kratzer's great-great-grandson.
